Fiery Long Beach crash kills 1, injures 3; bridge closed
Police are seen at the Geral Desmond Bridge in Long Beach after a fatal crash closed it in both directions on August. 1, 2015.
A fiery head-on collision on a Los Angeles-area bridge has left one man dead and three others injured.
The crash occurred at about 7:12 a.m. this morning when a driver got on the bridge headed the wrong way and hit two cars, KTLA reports.
A man in a Mercedes sedan going westbound in the eastbound lanes crashed into a Ford Fusion and a pickup truck, said Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department. The vehicle collided with two other vehicles.
Helfin tells the Long Beach Press-Telegram (http://bit.ly/1HfFvkH ) that the pickup driver died.
The unidentified man who was driving the wrong way was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, Arrona said.
