Chargers can’t keep up with Bucs in 28-21 loss
That said, they have failed to cover the number in five of their last seven road games versus an opponent with a losing home record. They might as well have been shouting it from atop nearby Sunset Cliffs, or Razor Point, or any other picturesque spot in San Diego. Last week, in a 14-5 win over the Seattle Seahawks, David recovered a Jimmy Graham fumble and almost returned it for a touchdown. Unfortunately against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bosa suffered an injury. The Bucs’ rousing win over the Seahawks, at team that otherwise hasn’t lost since October, seemed to be a turning point, however. The Bucs did just that with a 19-17 victory over the Chiefs in Week 11.
As trainers attended to him, immobilizing his leg, the entire Bucs team left the bench to greet him.
The Bucs overcame a 14-7 deficit and an anemic rushing attack to improve to 7-5 and own a share of the NFC South lead with Atlanta.
But perhaps the biggest contributor to this victory was the Buccaneers defense.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so woeful for so long, are doing everything they can to prove they’re for real. Those impressive stats aside, the Bucs will have their hands full this afternoon against a Chargers’ offense that rankings among the league’s most productive. Houston had 6 days to prepare while San Diego had 14. OMG!. a Sunday night game at the Dallas Cowboys.
BUCS Evans (8-104-2) joined Joey Galloway and Vincent Jackson as only Bucs receivers with 3 straight 1,000-yard seasons (1,020 yards and 10 TDs). Since Jason Verrett’s injury the Bolts don’t typically like to just have one corner follow around one guy for a whole game but they may have no choice but to leave Hayward on Evans, who is coming off back-to-back 100-yard games. It will be a challenge to say the least.
MAGIC MIKE: Although neither side will comment, it’s believed that the Chargers will extend the contract of coach Mike McCoy despite his overall 27-32 record and the fact the Chargers could miss the playoffs for the third time in McCoy’s four seasons and for the sixth time in seven seasons overall. Philip Rivers threw a late interception, the Buccaneers converted a key third-and-1 right before the two-minute warning, and they got out of San Diego with a huge road win.

Jameis Winston and the Bucs have won four straight. If he can cause such damage to a pass defence such as Seattle’s, what can he do to the 26th best pass defence in the league in the Chargers?
