Hillary Clinton’s leads Donald Trump in popular vote by 2.5 million
Suprun said Trump fails to unite America and is “driving a wedge between us”.
As he has in post-election interviews, Trump said he would have campaigned differently if the popular determined the presidential victor. It has problems. It has challenges. “Mr. Trump goes out of his way to attack the cast of “Saturday Night Live” for bias”, he said. “He speaks of retribution against his critics”.
“I believe electors should unify behind a Republican alternative, an honorable and qualified man or woman such as Gov. John Kasich of OH”, wrote Suprun, a paramedic.
“It’s going to be very hard to do the recount, particularly if it has to be a recount done by hand where they have to look at every ballot as opposed to a machine recount.” he said.
There are those today who would like to do away with the Electoral College and allow these larger populated states to choose the president because numerous smaller states have a different view of life, policy, tradition, etc.; while numerous larger states have a more liberal view. In an election decided by the popular vote, they would not.
Missouri has a total of 10 electoral votes.
Trump tweeted on Sunday that he would have won the popular vote if millions of people didn’t vote “illegally”, but failing to offer any evidence to support his claim. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win.
According to researcher Richard Berg-Andersson, only nine electors in the past 100 years have not gone the way of the popular vote. “I am here to elect a president, not a king”.
The people who technically choose the next president will gather on December 19 to, presumably, make the results of the November 8 presidential election official.
Each party selects their electoral college representatives – and because Donald Trump won the most votes in Missouri, Republican presidential electors will be the ones asking Missouri’s votes for president. Hillary Clinton can still win the election.
Well, they are hoping that by picking a third option, a “reasonable Republican who does not have Donald Trump’s questionable ethics”, some other Republican electors will follow suit and abandon their party’s nominee.
