Black Friday Tops Online Sales Record, Report Says
Adobe is so confident of it that it’s predicting online sales today will total $3.36 billion, a 9.4 percent increase from previous year.
Based on a comparison with last year’s deals and price comparisons with competitors this year, Target is the winning retailer for Cyber Monday 2016 deals in all departments from apparel to electronics to toys and for home items. Establishing the online presence of these “brick-and-mortar” stores is a way to capitalize on the increasing demand in e-commerce. Black Friday was the first day in US retail history with more than $1 billion in sales via mobile devices, with such sales jumping 33% to $1.2 billion, according to Adobe Digital Insights. Almost all of them will do it at work, spending about four hours pointing and clicking for deals. Eastern, retail websites had raked in $540 million on the reigning champion of digital shopping days. Early marketing aimed not just at office workers, but also customers who didn’t enjoy elbowing their way through thronged big-box stores.
But Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be getting a run for their retail-coveted money.
While the turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes may be gone, the shopping is still going for Cyber Monday.
On Cyber Monday you can find hot deals on tech items like TVs, laptops and gaming consoles all over the Internet but a few stand out as being really worth checking out.
It would be hard to imagine Cyber Monday getting this big if not for the increased availability of mobile technologies. That’s 33% growth year-over-year.

The term is still used to promote heavy discounts online, even though most people now have constant access to the web via their phones and computers. It said the number of shoppers rose to 154 million from 151 million in 2015, on a 4.2% rise in online shoppers and a 3.7% drop in in-store shoppers.
