Liverpool blow it at Bournemouth, Manchester United held by Everton
Karius, who was roped in by Liverpool from Mainz in the summer to provide competition for Mignolet, has come in for criticism following his display in the Reds’ 4-3 loss to Bournemouth at the weekend. We were comfortable at times but I still think we could have penetrated a little bit better and there was still a lot of room for improvement after the first half.
The Senegal global was seen limping during the game at the Vitality Stadium and Jurgen Klopp was eventually forced to bring on Adam Lallana in the 69th minute.
Liverpool conceded three goals in the final 20 minutes to lose 4-3 at Bournemouth in the Premier League. “No one is born a victor”. You have to learn it.
“We need to kick on, have a good week’s training”. Really cool. He’s not the most talking person, I would say. Things like this can happen – you don’t like it and it still feels bad but why should I be angry? Klopp said in March. But it’s quite simple to go back to 100 per cent. “Everything else is okay”.
The defeat leaves Liverpool four points adrift of leader Chelsea in the Premier League, but Klopp insists that it is still too early for any result to be decisive.
“It was an incredible comeback”, Ake told Sky Sports.
Klopp also defended the performance of goalkeeper Loris Karius, whose last-minute fumble led to Bournemouth’s fourth goal. The goalkeeper there has got to do an bad lot more (for the fourth goal) but it comes from players not making the right decision.
“I have no problem”. I’m sure people criticised Jamie Carragher in his career – there was a reason, I’m not sure. “This season I wanted to come back and help the team. It only happened and now we go on”.
For Bournemouth, this was a first victory over Liverpool in their history, and took the Cherries into the top half of the standings.
We are confident they have what it takes to bounce back.
“There have been two games where he has had questions asked of him; Swansea, where he struggled and was lucky, and Bournemouth, where he did not have the luck, the ball bounced out and he conceded”.
“At half-time we were in real trouble”. Ryan Fraser deserved that opportunity. “For this club and everyone involved it’s a very special day”.
