He is up for the biggest award of the night: ‘Album of the Year.’ Drake’s multi-Platinum album, “Views”, will be competing against Beyonce’s “Lemonade”, Justin Bieber’s “Purpose”, and Adele’s “25”.
While Drake’s album “Views” may have some great songs on it, I do not think it was worthy of Album of the Year.

Also notably absent from major categories is David Bowie, who was tipped to win for his critically-acclaimed “Blackstar” album.
He is nominated this year for Best Country Solo Performance (Blue Ain’t You Color), Best Country Song (Blue Ain’t Your Color) and Best Country Album (Ripcord). It will be recalled that Riri shocked everyone in 2011 for being nominated under the same category for her album “Loud”. The original version of the song was released as part of its eponymous 2015 album, but Clarkson’s stunning piano-backed performance of the track on American Idol in February prompted a new, scaled-back recording that evidently made industry waves.

What’s even more impressive is that he’s done this whole thing without the help of a label, using word-of-mouth to get the word out on his albums.
