Harrison: Bourbon Street shooting started as an argument
One man was killed while nine other men and women suffered various gunshot wounds when gunfire broke out early Sunday on Bourbon Street. Investigators said two men got into an argument and started firing shots.
Authorities say the victims range in age from 20-37 years old.
The shots ripped through the celebrations after the Bayou Classic, a high-profile annual college football game, that attracted more than 30 police officers to the block to keep order and ensure public safety.
He said two men were arrested on firearms charges – one of them a shooting victim.
Police said last night that they were looking for witnesses who may have seen the shooting.
The victim was hit by at least one bullet, Montreal police said.
By late afternoon, five had been released from the hospital. Police pinpoint the scene around the 100 block of Bourbon Street, near the intersection of Bourbon Street and Orleans Avenue. One of them was identified as a victim in the shooting, police said, and was being treated for injuries.

“It is impossible to believe with technology and social media that somebody doesn’t have a picture that will really help us”, Landrieu said.
The shooting mirrors another that occurred on Bourbon Street in June 2014. Harrison and Mayor Mitch Landrieu made assurances then that the two suspects would be brought to justice. “It’s just a tragic end to what was otherwise a attractive weekend”.
