Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian questionable for Sunday
For the Tennessee Titans, hosting the Broncos on Sunday is the biggest game the franchise has played in years. Coming into this week’s action, the Broncos were clinging to the AFC’s last playoff spot while the Titans were part of a three-way tie for first place in the AFC South.
Denver is now the No. 6 seed with an 8-4 record. Through the 12 games he played in 2015, he was sacked 38 times. The Titans stumbled to an 18-46 record the past four years, playing for nothing but pride down the stretch. “He doesn’t look like a rookie for sure – very athletic”.
“We know we’re going to have to play really, really well”, Kubiak said.
The key for Denver in this game will be to slow down Delanie Walker. No longer is Mariota deemed a liability as most young quarterbacks can be.
WHO’S AT QB: Kubiak is hoping Trevor Siemian is back after missing the Jacksonville win with a left mid-foot sprain. After acquiring veteran quarterback Mark Sanchez via trade and selecting Lynch in the first-round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Siemian still managed to become the starter.
Kubiak said he’ll make his decision Saturday, but it was apparent the start is Siemian’s if his health allows. “But we’ll see how he’s doing tomorrow”.
“They’re unbelievable pass rushers, and they’re great football players, not just pass rushers”, Lewan said Wednesday. “It was a tough one for him”.
“He did everything we asked him to do (Thursday)”.
Tennessee gave up 411 yards to the Bears two weeks ago, but came away with a win much to the thanks of forcing two turnovers.
That means Tennessee is going to start either LeShaun Sims or Valentino Blake at cornerback opposite Jason McCourty.
While McCain is more suited to a nickel back role, can Tennessee trust Sims against the likes of Thomas or Emmanuel Sanders? I think for us, it’s going to be very important we run the ball. With the loss of Marshall, the Orange & Blue will have to find a way to limit the running attack of the Titians which is ranked third in the league this season. The Broncos are near the bottom of the rankings in rushing defense (28th) and have allowed eight different running backs to run for 100 yards this season. Predictions: Top Performers For Fantasy Football – Broncos at Titans According to standard fantasy football scoring provided by the NFL, no one from either team is projected to be an overall Top 25 performer this week, with Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota (13.82 points) expected to be the biggest performer of the game. If Siemian is healthy, he’s got a golden opportunity to build on his career-best game against the Chiefs in Week 12. None other than current Denver coach Gary Kubiak.
