Gigi Hadid reveals she was diagnosed with thyroid disease
Gigi Hadid revealed Wednesday that she has Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder that attacks the thyroid gland. The model, who was recently named International Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council, said she also struggles with dealing with the nasty messages she receives on her social media from strangers.
The 23-year-old Nickelodeon actress was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease several years ago. Hyperthyroidism can cause weight gain and depression, and the meds she’s on to combat it have caused her to lose weight.
Gigi Hadid is exhausted of online commenters who troll her on social media, but it seems that the model has also come to peace with her detractors.
“My stepdad always said, ‘if you believe the good, you’re going to believe the bad”, she continued.
Gigi Hadid might not be telling the truth about her recent weight loss.
As far as exactly how Hadid got that butt perkier, she revealed that she’s a big believer in squats-though she hates them. “No one else is watching but you’re like, ‘Okay, I have to do this for myself, ‘ which is important”, she added. “It’s a literal nightmare, and you say ‘It’s okay, I can be tough, ‘ but you shouldn’t have to”. At the launch of her Reebok #PerfectNever campaign in NYC yesterday, Gigi Hadid spilled her New Year’s resolution, announcing that she’ll be taking a “digital detox” in 2017. “It was not good”, she said. She said she needs to take a break so she can share all the things with her supporters when she comes back.
Former American softball player and current broadcaster Jessica Mendoza backed up that sentiment saying, “I’ll be like, who is this person? But, if you’re going to be upset that I need to be human for a month, than maybe I don’t want your follow anyway”.
“Zayn [Malik] wasn’t with Gigi [Hadid] to personally congratulate her, but he did make sure to let her know how proud he is of her”.

Another questioned the model, “I’m anxious about your health, are you okay?”
