Bengals start fast, cruise to 23-10 victory

Browns coach Hue Jackson summed up Sunday’s 23-10 loss to the Bengals as “too little, too late” after watching a “spirited” second-half surge fall short Sunday afternoon.

The Bengals improved to 5-7-1 as the team traveled to take on the winless Browns. The Browns (0-13) have now lost 16 straight going back to last season. He surpassed 100 yards only because of three plays as the clock ran down in the final minute. Dalton threw for over 300 yards and connected with nine different receivers, his best game since AJ Green went out with a season-ending hamstring injury.

“We started fast”, said wide receiver Tyler Boyd, who led the Bengals with six catches for 49 yards. The guys helped me get through some of that. Our whole unit is stepping up. “You don’t want to miss a throw then make a throw, miss a throw then make a throw”. That’s when everybody comes in and teams up.

RG3 wants to make the wait worth it.

Boyd set up Eifert’s first touchdown on a reverse when he ran 39 yards to the Cleveland 20-yard-line. Griffin missed 11 games with a broken bone in his left shoulder and was obviously rusty.

Dalton was 20 of 28 for 180 yards and two touchdowns and a passer rating of 112.2.

It was only his second start in the last two seasons.

FALCONS 42, RAMS 14- Matt Ryan passed for 237 yards and three touchdowns and Atlanta forced five turnovers to beat Los Angeles. Cleveland’s wide receivers could not separate themselves and they are not blocking for the runners.

“No one can change our situation but us”, Jackson said on Monday. His three-yard TD toss to Kyle Rudolph with 2:13 remaining sealed the victory.

Gambling: The Browns went for it from their own 21 in the first quarter on fourth-and-one as Griffin did a quarterback sneak.

“He gives us a chance to win”, Jackson said, adding that he needs a larger sampling size on Griffin before making any judgments about him for the future. “He just wanted to run the play”.

“By any means necessary I feel that we’ve got to get a win”, he said. It is not just a Sunday thing. The Bengals have stubbornly stuck by kicker Mike Nugent, whose struggles have only gotten worse. He is now 23 of 29 on point-afters.

Griffin signed with the Browns as a free agent during the offseason after he was released by the Washington Redskins.

Rookie Kevin Hogan is also on the roster.
