Beyonce dominates Grammy nominations
Both women had extraordinary years. Beyonce revealed that her Lemonade album will be an HBO special this spring for one hour.
In 2016, Beyonce, Drake, and Adele garnered the three top selling albums in the world. Those wishing she would follow her viral Country Music Association Awards performance with a Grammy for best country song or solo performance are disappointed, but can console themselves with her nine total nominations.

A few nominations in this category came as no surprise. The album makes it on the list for the best alternative album category.
The eligibility deadline has kept many artists from being nominated in the same 12-month span in which they release their album.
Beyonce and Adele’s competition for the album of the year category also includes Justin Bieber’s album goal and Drake with his album Views.
Adele’s “Hello” joins Beyonce in the record of the year category, where the other nominees are Lukas Graham’s “7 Years”, “Work” from Rihanna featuring Drake and Twenty One Pilots’ “Stressed Out”.
Rihanna fans have taken to social media to call out the snub, even suggesting the awards showed favoritism towards Beyoncé, who has nine nominations. Still, he’s not completely out of the running there, as Ye has a producing credit on Drake’s “Views”, which is up for the night’s biggest award.
The long-awaited, hotly debated 59thAnnual Grammy Award nominees are in, and we must admit that the top contenders are impressive.

It was shut out of the album, record and song of the year categories this year, as well as David Bowie’s final album “Blackstar”, which was released two days before his death in January.
Beyonce already has this record – a tie with Adele for six wins in one evening.
