This Galaxy S8 Rumor Will Make You Want One
But the company is planning to bounce back next year by making it up with its Galaxy S8 launch.
The changes should only apply to a limited number of Note 7 units, as a lot of them have been returned in Canada. As usual, Samsung could launch the Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in February, and ship the handset in late April or May. This would make a lot of sense considering that the Note family’s reputation has been tarnished by the Note 7 debacle. The display will have a 2K resolution and not 4K, similar to the S7 device. The smartphone could be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants.
Other specs rumors for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 mentioned that the device will be equipped with either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or Samsung Exynos 8895 10nm system on chip (SoC).
Whichever explanation is true, the flawed Note 7 ended up burning a $5 to $8 billion hole in Samsung’s corporate pocket. The South Korean company is also suspected that they might introduce pressure sensitive technology that will work similarly to the way iPhone 7’s 3D Touch functionality works. As C|Net notes, there will definitely need to be some fantastic features, great quality for the money and transparent safety testing methods.
Additionally, since Samsung took over Viv, AI-based digital voice assistant has been one of the most talked about feature in the phone. But the main focus should be to ensure that it will not make the same mistake as the Note 7.
Samsung has always put a premium on its high-end devices pushing the envelope in regards to technological advances. Otherwise, it will definitely be the end of the Note family line.
SamMobile believes the physical home button will be removed (which fits in with the above), and that the device’s fingerprint sensor will be integrated into the front screen. But considering that the tech giant had no choice but to recall their flagship unit, taking so much time in tracing the glitch that caused the problem is forgivable, according to Consumer News And Business Channel.
All that said, SamMobile speculates that the move would allow the Galaxy S8 to be thinner while having room for a larger battery.
