Nintendo Download, Dec. 15, 2016: Play Mario with Only One Hand!
According to a new report from GamesBeat, the company’s upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch will continue the trend, as it won’t be as powerful as the three-year-old PS4, not the mention the PS4 Pro or Microsoft’s Xbox One Scorpio. Given Switch’s portable nature and Pascal’s lower power consumption, it is highly likely that the system would be the first to use NVIDIA’s next-generation Tegra chip. While it would have been nice if Nintendo went with the Pascal chip, it should be able to run its own games just fine on the Maxwell architecture.
Apart from the PlayStation 4, “Rime” will also be released for the Xbox One, PC and surprisingly enough, the Nintendo Switch. This will be the first time that Nintendo fans get to see the Nintendo Switch in action, in Australia.
Though it’s less-powerful, nevertheless, Switch can still “play Nintendo-style games that rely on quality art over horsepower, but don’t expect Switch software to match the graphical fidelity of the highest-end PS4 games”.
VentureBeat’s full report, which further explains the differences between Nvidia’s gaming platforms and chips, and the reasons why Nintendo isn’t going to beat the PS4 in a performance war, is available at this link.
Last month, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff discussed the Nintendo Switch during an investor’s meeting.
There had been rumors about the possible games to be featured in the Nintendo NX and is said to include the classic hit game Super Mario and other Gamecube games.
This and the millions of questions we have regarding the Nintendo Switch will be clarified on January 12, 2017, when the Japanese company performs the presentation event, where we will know the price, departure and line-up of video games. It is gameplay and immersion. Trying to compare Nintendo to Sony is like comparing a Volkswagen to a Corvette. But, unfortunately, Nintendo fans will undoubtedly be disappointed by the old processor. If Nintendo had chose to go with Pascal, either those developers wouldn’t have had enough lead time or Nintendo would have needed to push the Switch beyond a March 2017 release.
