Naughty Dog reveals The Last of Us 2 announcement trailer at PSX
The Last of USA 2 arrives with a trailer! Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog are at it again, bringing Ellie and Joel back for more action. First, Ellie is considerably older than she was in the first game, so we can assume that some years have passed.
“When the possibility of going forward with a sequel popped in, we had lots of questions”. Could the theme of Ellie’s hate be channeled towards the Fireflies in this sequel? A sequel was expected following the original’s enormous critical and commercial success, but not before the studio was done with Uncharted 4 and its DLC. Another thing we noticed about Joel is that he let Ellie take control of their path. Although the synopsis seems to provide the bigger, there is still uncertainty with regard to the concepts of The Last of Us 2. Fans couldn’t contain their excitement over this latest installment of the franchise, especially since Ellie (voiced by Ashley Johnson) will be the main playable character in the game. As a result, FFVII Remake will probably feel like a whole new game with the same story and characters, just like creator Hironobu Sakaguchi recently noted. Is Ellie’s guardian dead in “The Last of Us” Part 2? We don’t even know that the bodies in the trailer are fresh, or that Joel and Ellie did the killing.
One of the extremely rare exceptions is Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, which somehow managed to pull together all of its threads into something thematically and formally ideal.
The sequel’s eeriness can be gauged through the game’s announcement trailer, in which Ellie reveals her plans to “kill every one last one of them”. Can’t wait to share more of the story with y’all.
The Last of Us Part 2 was one of the two (giant) bombs dropped by Naughty Dog at PSX (almost three if you count Crash Bandicoot).
The Last Us 2 is in very early stages of development, Sony mentioned during PlayStation Experience. The fifth instalment in the series has been promised for years, and now we’re finally getting it, maybe, soon, perhaps?
