The Camellia Bowl between the Appalachian State Mountaineers and Toledo Rockets was no exception.
App State finishes the 2016 season with a 10-3 record and back-to-back 10-win seasons. Following the overtime loss against Tennessee, the Mountaineers lost against Miami (45-10) but were largely dominant in most of their Sun Belt matchups.

On Saturday night, they limited Woodside to 247 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Rubino’s kick followed a six-play, 35-yard Mountaineer drive that was sparked by a simple misdirection play that Cox broke to the sideline for 26 yards, with a huge seal block from guard Colby Gossett at the corner. Toledo’s defense is also not great, mainly because it has serious problems with the big play. This is the teams 2nd straight Raycom Media Camellia Bowl win.
Bowling Green won the inaugural Camellia Bowl 33-28 over South Alabama in 2014, and past year Appalachian State defeated OH 31-29. And last season, Appalachian State edged OH 31-29.
