Stores Open on Christmas 2016
This year will mark plenty of opportunities to do some last-minute shopping as at least 10 major retailers will be open around the country for limited hours, while a few will be open for regular hours. CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid are increasingly stocking their shelves with more toys for the little ones. If you need to buy something on Christmas Day, you first need to know if Walmart is open on Christmas, and what their hours are for Christmas 2016.
The large stores will be open from 6am until 10pm on Christmas Eve and from 6am until 7pm on Boxing Day.
All City of Hamilton Administrative offices will be closed from Monday, December 26 to Monday, January 2. And Target will be open from 7 a.m.to midnight through December 23 and stay open until at least 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Most retail stores will, of course, be closed on Christmas Day.
Whole Foods: Open until 7 p.m. but varies by location. Piggly Wiggly will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and as always will be closed on Sunday.
Footfall on Christmas Eve will drop 3.5% year-on-year, according to global retail insight provider, ShopperTrak.
IHOP: Christmas Eve, regular hours; Christmas Day, open till 3 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 24 – 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Kohl’s, located at 5205 University Parkway, is open around the clock until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day. Some locations may have alternative hours; call your local store to find out. It will open up for two days next week, Dec. 28 and Dec. 29, and will close again for New Year’s on Dec. 30.
Even if you need an ingredient thought you had but don’t for December 25, 7-11 may be just the place to help you out.
Express Stores will be open from 8am until 10pm.
Artesia Lanes: Christmas Eve, open 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.; closed Christmas Day.
Amazon revealed that previous year the entire day was busy, with many shoppers visiting the site early in the morning, and others visiting late at night. He lists this example: “If Christmas falls on a weekend, then the Friday and Monday surrounding them become critical [but] If it falls on a weekday, that Super Saturday becomes the critical shopping day”.
