Search for last-minute gifts continues on Christmas Eve

Tucson area malls and shopping centers were flooded last minute shoppers as the holiday clock was ticking. That’s when after-holiday sales kick in, says Sara Skirboll, a shopping and trends expert at shopping deal app RetailMeNot. “People are a little stressed out”. Leading up to this special day, there’s many people who want to do some shopping for their friends and family.

More than $1.6 billion is set to exchange hands on Saturday as Australian shoppers are set for a last minute rush to purchase gifts in preparation for Christmas.

The store on Brigstock Road, in Thornton Heath, is open at 7am on Christmas Eve and shuts at 8pm while the Boxing Day hours are 8am to 7pm.

Trends in online shopping, in-store pickup and the lengthening of the holiday sales seasons has largely made the image of harried shoppers grasping for anything they can find on picked-over store shelves a thing of the past. It will be closed on Christmas Day.

“We shop all year and every day is a shopping day”, Stephanie Henderson said.

Kroger closes at 6 p.m. They will reopen 9 a.m.to 10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26.

Karns Foods: Stores close at 6 p.m. December 24.

All stores will be open on Christmas Eve, but many close earlier than 8pm, and only larger stores will open from 9am until 6pm on Boxing Day.

The mall will be open extended hours Monday, Dec. 26 from 9 a.m.to 9 p.m. Dec. 27-Dec. If you’re still missing groceries for Christmas dinner, Whole Foods will be open until 8 p.m.

H-E-B – 8 p.m.

Kmart 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Brookshire Brothers in Dublin closes at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Some retailers, including Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Coach are offering virtual gifts.

Best Buy – 6 p.m.

Old Navy 7 a.m. – midnight (check locally) 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 23 – 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. The store will be open 9 a.m.to 7 p.m.

Normally open 24 hours-a-day, Walmart locations in town will only be open from midnight to 6 p.m. December 24.
