White To Mayweather: Try To Slap McGregor, He’ll Kick Your Ass!
Two men were recently impersonating Conor McGregor on the street in Dublin, as one does when one is on the street in Dublin. One roared: “You’ll do nothing” at which time a black jeep pulled up alongside them which had McGregor inside.
McGregor, 28, became the first UFC fighter to hold two belts at the same time when he TKO’d Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title at UFC 205.
Although more recently there hasn’t been as much discussion about McGregor – Diaz III, it still comes up. But just last week McGregor seemed sick of sitting idle and told RTE Sports that he was ready to fight again once the holidays are over.
The 26-year-old took to his Instagram account and pitched Giorgio Petrosyan, a renowned Italian kickboxer, as the man who McGregor must defeat before hailing himself as the ‘champion of the champions’.
Despite White’s reasoning, however, there are also multiple reasons why the UFC should indeed look to book the rubber match between McGregor and Diaz.
Too bad McGregor isn’t having any of this interim title featherweight title talk. The less cynical folk among us took it on face value that it was the first step towards the huge crossover spectacle actually materialising.
“Keep digging yourself a hole because one day you’re going to be standing across the cage from me and you’ll realize you’re not better than me in every aspect of MMA and you’ll start folding”, he said, per Martin. We’ve had those type of fights too. “He has done more than any other Irish fighter ever has on the world stage and I’m glad to see that acknowledge by RTÉ”. “I promise you, Floyd, you will never walk up and try to slap Conor McGregor”. That fight ruined him. None other than Conor McGregor, whose appearance drew a brilliant reaction from Mark and Paddy when they went up to the auto to say hello (see video below). “It’s just not right”.
