LIST: Local venues celebrating New Year’s Eve
Gringo’s is always good for a party and they don’t disappoint at New Years Eve. The show starts at 9 p.m. and runs to 1:30 a.m.
The Kauai Fire Department said it is illegal to set off fireworks on public property, including streets, sidewalks, beaches and parks. Museums around New England have family-friendly, daytime options. A kickoff celebration for the New Year’s festivities begins at 6 p.m., followed by the Highmark First Night Parade at 8 p.m., accompanied by ongoing comedic, musical, and theatrical performances throughout the evening.
The Carson Valley Inn in welcoming live music by After Dark starting at 8 p.m. On the following day, New Year’s Day brunch at Cafe Del Rio is from 10 a.m.to 3 p.m.
Whether you want to stay home and play board games and cards, or come out with the crowds, New Year’s Eve only comes once a year, so make it a safe and fun night for all. Colorful pyrotechnics lighting up the night sky is an integral part of the celebrations, with numerous venues around Cayman planning spectacular shows. 8 p.m. – 2 a.m.
All six 110 Grill locations, including Chelmsford and Nashua, N.H., will host parties that include shrimp cocktail, surf and turf, a New Year’s Resolution cocktail and more. Reservations are available from 10 a.m.to 11 p.m. Once the dill has descended into the barrel, the party continues with a fireworks display lasting until 12:30 a.m.
The band Velvet Punch performs during this New Year’s Eve celebration in Vintage Park with DJ Perez taking over shortly before midnight for the countdown.
Absynth Quartet New Year’s Eve party is at the Arcata Theatre Lounge ($18, $14 advance) with doors at 8 p.m. Party in the lounge with open bar, live music, small plates, champagne toast and dessert at $195 per person. Pre-registration is required online or in person. The cruise is an all-inclusive event for $125 per person, including a 4 1/2-hour cruise, five-course meal, live entertainment, fireworks, party favors and champagne. Count on a cover charge at each of these events. After the plunge, guests will enjoy food, music and a bonfire.
The fleet will offer three different cruises on New Year’s Eve, all featuring the sites of Pittsburgh from its three rivers.
Going out to “over 21 events’ isn’t for everyone, so celebrate the arrival of the new year in your own way”. Tickets are $85 per adult, $55 for children and $70 for members. Normal admission provides for free video games, pinball, “80s trivia contest and ’80s themed dress-up party”.
