Sprint Adding 5000 US Jobs as Part of Trump, SoftBank Economic Push
Tech billionaire Masayoshi Son promised to create 50,000 jobs after meeting with the president-elect in December. Also, OneWeb company will generate 3,000 new jobs in the country. In a press conference that Trump held with reporters at Mar-a-Lago yesterday, the first in over 150 days, he falsely claimed that 5,000 Sprint jobs were coming back to the United States because of him, and much of the press did its stenography thing.
Sprint “anticipates these jobs will support a variety of functions across the organization including its customer care and sales teams”, the company said in a statement.
“Trump won approval to hire 64 foreign workers through the federal government’s H-2B visa program, according to newly released data from the U.S. Labor Department”, the Palm Beach Post reported December 6.
Trump opposed the Obama administration’s move last week to allow the United Nations to pass a resolution condemning Israel for building more settlements in the disputed West Bank.
President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday that two telecommunications companies are adding thousands of jobs to the us economy.
Son’s SoftBank owns Sprint.
We’ve had a busy day of Trump news.
Since Trump has vowed to be the “greatest jobs president that God ever created”, he has taken credit now for creating or saving around 9,000 jobs, even though there’s no proof he’s had a hand in doing anything.
The president-elect also announced 3,000 jobs to be created by satellite company OneWeb, which is also linked to SoftBank. He had previously taken credit for the Carrier company keeping hundreds of jobs in IN, which came with tax concessions from the state where Trump’s incoming Vice President, Mike Pence, serves now as governor. It can be assumed that at least some of the jobs major corporations are sending overseas aren’t being done by humans at all – but by robots.
He has also called on Boeing and Lockheed Martin Corp to lower their costs for US military and government projects. The firm allegedly told the next POTUS about the hiring plans.
Earlier this month, SoftBank’s CEO and Sprint chairman, Masayoshi Son met with President-Elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York City. Under the Obama administration, he saw a marquee deal to merge Sprint with rival T-Mobile fail.
According to CNN, Trump’s businesses have hired a total of 1,256 foreign guest workers over the past 15 years, and his Mar-a-Lago Club and Jupiter Golf Club have filed documents to bring in as many as 78 foreign guest workers in 2017.
