Serena Williams announces her engagement to Reddit co-founder … on Reddit

Love is in the air for tennis legend Serena Williams. After a spate of high-profile relationships, World No. 2 tennis ace Serena Williams seems to have finally found her match as she announced her engagement to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

“It is always fun to go to places you have never been, so I am excited to be here”, she said.

“Also – you’re a really cute Snoo”, referring to the image Williams shared in her post: an illustration of herself and Ohanian as Reddit mascots, also known as Snoos.

“And now it was full circle”, she continued. The couple first met in Rome and they have been dating for over a year now. Fittingly, Williams announced the news in a Reddit post on her verified account. News and have kept their relationship quiet, except for an occasional Instagram post.

“Our queen stopped by center court today”, he wrote alongside a photo of Williams on the court.

She is preparing for the start of the 2017 tennis season, having lost her world No. 1 spot to Germany’s Angelique Kerber this year. He’s also said multiple times how proud he is of her successes in tennis and fashion. He’s now based in San Francisco and is best known for co-founding the aforementioned social news website Reddit. In September, a group of Russian hackers known as Fancy Bear released medical records of top athletes, including results of a 2014 test Serena took for banned substances, and 2012 results for a similar test taken by her sister Venus. Though we’re yet to get a peek of the engagement ring, we know that Alexis calls his bride-to-be “a queen”, while posting about her on social media.

Ohanian said he drew this picture for Williams, and posted it to Reddit.Who is Alexis Ohanian? According to the New Zealand Herald, she is thrilled for her. She is expected to win her seventh Australian Open title next month in Melbourne.
