Netanyahu questioned on alleged gifts
Police cars arrived at Mr Netanyahu’s house on Monday and questioning reportedly began in the evening. Police refused to comment.
Large black screens were mounted around the prime minister’s residence in an upscale area of Jerusalem on Monday night in an apparent bid to shield from view the arrival and departure of investigators.
“We hear the air of celebration on television and from the opposition”, he said in broadcast remarks. He has told his political opponents that if they want to topple him from power, the best place to try is where they have failed time and again before: at the ballot box. Do not rush. “We have to protect Israel”, Trump said in the clip. Some 50 witnesses are said to have been questioned. Police declined to elaborate on the investigation beyond a brief statement that it concerned allegations of graft.
Speaking earlier in the day, Netanyahu told the media and opposition to “hold off on the partying” ahead of his police questioning later in the day.
Some of Netanyahu’s allies have been vocal in their support of him, with one Likud MP describing the the probe as a conspiracy.
This year, Benjamin Netanyahu did admit he had accepted thousands of euros from Arnaud Mimran, a French tycoon who has since been convicted of fraud and has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Analysts say any developments could threaten Netanyahu’s office.
There are also calls for Netanyahu to be investigated for his role in a billion-dollar deal to purchase three submarines from German shipbuilder ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems GmbH.
During his questioning, Lauder confirmed that he had given Netanyahu “various gifts, including a suit, and that he had also financed a trip overseas for the prime minister’s son, Yair”, Ha’aretz reported. Haaretz has reported that Netanyahu received a suit while his son, Yair, was given a trip overseas.

He has served as premier for a total of almost 11 years, fast approaching the 13 years of of the country’s revered founding father David Ben-Gurion.
“If two consecutive prime ministers in the state of Israel are brought down because of corruption, it will be very hard to rehabilitate public faith in government in the state of Israel”, Lapid told reporters.
