Oakland Raiders lose wildcard playoff game against Texans

Earlier in Houston, the Texans overpowered rookie third-choice quarterback Connor Cook to beat the Oakland Raiders 27-14. The game is scheduled for 4:35 p.m. Live Streaming: Watch ESPN.

With Matt McGloin expected to hit free agency this offseason, Cook will return to the drawing board in order to learn from his mistakes and move on as the Raiders’ backup quarterback.

As for the Texans, the AFC South Division Champs turn back to Brock Osweiler under center. Last postseason, the Chiefs were able to remove the Texans crowd from the equation on the first play of the game when Knile Davis returned the opening kick for a touchdown, so the good news for the Texans is, if it’s still 0-0 on the second play of the game, THAT’S PROGRESS!

However, even if Cook does perform better then most expect, it is going to be hard to defeat this Texans team.

Cook was struggling mightily in his first ever National Football League start.

“We got off to such a great start, winning 12 games isn’t easy to do”, coach Jack Del Rio said.

This makes sense! The Texans have gone 9-7 all three years with him at the helm.

Without QB Derek Carr, the Raiders’ offense struggled badly against the sharp Texans defense.

Prater added a 53-yard field goal for the Lions but Hauschka answered from 27 yards early in the fourth quarter to give Seattle a 13-6 edge. “I feel like whatever happened this season, I felt like what he did what he had to do today to make people forget about it”.

The running back held up his end.

Lamar Miller led the way on the ground with 30 carries for 73 yards and a score. After being banged up for much of the season, he feels fresh after getting a couple of weeks off. Typically, I would say probably, yes.

Usually, the quarterback is the most important player on the field for any team.
