Just Got Heated Between Anderson Cooper And Kellyanne Conway
“So despite an incredibly short run, I think it’s time to retire that term”, Meyers said.
“So you are saying that everything that’s in that appendix is wrong and fake?” co-host Charlie Rose asked.
She said NBC News had reported that Mr Trump had not been verbally briefed on the Russian intelligence claim but Mr Cooper clarified that CNN had never suggested he had – just that he had been presented with a two-page document detailing the information. “It’s rife with misspellings, it’s uncorroborated, it’s unsubstantiated”.
“We didn’t report what Buzzfeed reported”, he shot back.
Meyers added, “The irony, of course, is Trump built his political career spreading a false and outrageous claim about President Obama and continued making baseless allegations throughout the campaign”. CNN reported that the information was based primarily on memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative intended as opposition research into Trump.
“Twenty-one million Americans having their personal, private information hacked by the Chinese and I don’t remember President [Barack] Obama doing more than slapping them on the wrist”. When Conway repeated that Trump said he hadn’t been informed, Meyers didn’t miss a beat: “Well.that concerns me”. “That’s unsafe stuff”, she said. “You can not take issue with any specific that we reported”.
“You can’t say you’re not reporting it if it’s on your website”, Conway responded.
She believes Trump was elected for a myriad of reasons, but in her “top three to five” it was because the President-elect will keep his promises.
Conway also defended Trump’s use of Twitter, describing it as the “democratization of information” and free of charge. “I was talking to people in Macomb County, Michigan”.

Shep Smith called it out last night, and Anderson Cooper spent almost 20 minutes battling back against Kellyanne Conway and her attempts to label legitimate news “fake”.
