National Night Out returns to valley
The Salem Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Keizer Police Department and several other local law enforcement agencies will celebrate the 32nd National Night Out on August. 4 with barbecues, live music, games, bounce houses, individual neighborhood block parties and more. There will be 13 different “block parties” established that will serve as meeting places for the community of Lincolnton to mingle with law enforcement, elected officials and district attorneys.
In addition to fun attractions like a petting zoo, raffle prizes and snacks, the event will also have a distracted driving simulator.
National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, co-sponsored locally by the city of Woodstock Police Department and supported in part by Target, a national corporate sponsor.
“I think it’s important because it gives the community and citizens a chance to interact with police and fire personnel outside the day-to-day calls for service”, Chief Mark Mitchell said.
National Night Out helps strengthen it.
