‘Raees’ is SRK’s best performance till date: Nawazuddin Siddiqui
The big Bollywood clash of 2017! Now, 4th-day collections of Raees movie is expected to close enough to the third day. Elsewhere, Gupta is having an off day: a disastrous first act bottoms out with a beyond kitsch wedding night sequence (“I can’t see, but I can feel”), and the sappiness trickles into the vendetta business, as dreamboat Roshan fumbles for wifey’s ghost between slayings.
Their friendship goes back to 1990s films “King Uncle” and “Karan Arjun”, in which Shah Rukh starred and Hrithik assisted his father Rakesh Roshan in direction.
Raees stars Shahrukh Khan in the lead role. Even if the movie’s earnings remain in the lakhs, if it can remain in theatres long enough, it may still enter the Rs 400 crore club. This movie is also released in Tamil and Telugu versions. Although, Hrithik’s performance is quiet appreciable, as he is one of the dominant reason which can help the audience to be with the film. Therefore, occupying 45% of the total distributed screen across the globe, Kaabil 3rd day total collection has settled at Rs. 27.22 crores in a worldwide basis. The above figures are producer figures. The revenge drama, which was off to a decent start of Rs 10.43 crore, has raked in Rs 18.63 crore on Thursday. In Kaabil Roshan plays a visually impaired man who avenges the death of his ladylove, Yami Gautam, who is also visually impaired, and the hard-core vendetta film with imaginative action seems to be inspired in spirit by RK Nayyar’s Qatl (1986).
“‘Kaabil’ (is) most convincing film”.
He said various cinema owners had suspended screening of Indian films in September previous year in retaliation to the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA)’s ban on Pakistani actors, singers and technicians from working in India till “normalcy” returns. In the morning shows of fourth day, SRK’s film garnered more occupancy than Hrithik’s celluloid. This puts the total collection for the movie at 25.75 crore.
Now the film needs to improve this weekend to decide the fate of the film. Multi starrer Dilwale and HNY had amassed Rs 24 crore and Rs 31.06 crore, respectively, while FAN had earned Rs 17.75 crore on day 3.
