Grammys 2017: What time, channel, who is performing, list of nominees
Despite multiple nominations, Kanye West, Drake and Justin Bieber are reportedly skipping tomorrow evening’s Grammy Awards. For everything you need to know ahead of Sunday’s big Grammys show, keep scrolling. No disrespect to anybody at any of the shows or the people running it.
“I feel like my peers tipped their hat to me”. The Grammys are obviously going to be a fun night, filled with great music and a multitude of celebrity appearances. Beyonce’s “Lemonade” album is competing Sunday, along with its hit “Formation” for record and song of the year. Now, it looks like the Recording Academy (AKA the organization responsible for making tonight’s Grammy Awards happen), has become the newest target for backlash, with claims running rampant that they are simply not open to diversity and that the ceremony is out of touch.
Grammy judges’ familiarity with the legendary Bob Marley will prompt them to present his talented but musically bland son Ziggy Marley with the Best Reggae Album.
“This seems to be one of those years where the Grammys don’t matter to anybody of effect”. I had never heard of Kelsea Ballerini until my granddaughter told me about her.
According to Spotify, Drake ” s Views is a front-runner for album of the year.
Interestingly, David Bowie, who is nominated in 4 different categories, could win more Grammys posthumously than he did while he was alive.
I guess the Grammy Awards are for the youngsters.
Expect some big surprises this year.
Carrie Underwood is nominated for her song “Church Bells” in the Best Country Solo Performance category.
If all of that doesn’t convince you to tune in, I’m not sure what will.
Both artists are up for the year’s top honors – those include album, song and record of the year. Since he didn’t appear to accept the Nobel Prize for Literature past year, I am eager to see if the Grammy is more important to him.
The awards ceremony also announced two planned tribute performances to George Michael (a two-time Grammy winner) and Prince (a seven-time Grammy winner).
Things could get pretty ugly at Sunday night’s 2017 Grammy Awards – and we don’t just mean political bashing of President Trump.
