Rumor, the German shepherd, wins Best in Show at Westminster Kennel Club
She’s just the second dog in the “herding” category in Westminster history to become champion. Sometimes unrecognizable. When you recognize it, it hits you home, and that’s what it really is.
New Jersey claimed 188 entrants in the traditional Westminster breed show, where the largest group of dogs – 260 – hailed from NY.
Last year, Rumor also earned the Best of Breed and Best of Group titles, but fell short in the final ring. Almost 2,800 dogs, which included 202 breeds and varieties, were in the competition. Dogs are judged on characteristics specific to their breeds.
