President Trump skirts tough questions again
A shame the U.S. news networks seem to be taking the bait: they asked him more about his attacks on them than about the president’s plans to make America great again.
Donald Trump, in an extraordinary press conference, has launched a stinging attack on the media, his predecessors and confirmed a replacement for his “Muslim travel ban” next week.
“I’m here today to update the American people on the incredible progress that has been made in the last four weeks since my inauguration”, Trump said, after quickly announcing his new pick for labor secretary, Alexander Acosta.
“I turn on the TV, open the newspapers, and I see stories of chaos, chaos”, Trump said. “It’s the exact opposite”.
-Says his administration is off to a great start: “This is a fine-tuned machine”.
“I’m here following through on what I pledged to do, that’s all I’m doing”, he said. In response, Trump said that media outlets oftentimes spin stories that he views as positive into something very negative. In the press conference, Trump called on TownHall.com Editor Katie Pavlich and David Brody, White House correspondent for the Christian Broadcasting Network.

The former reality star insisted that he had inherited a “seriously divided” country.
“The press has become so dishonest”. Various outlets reported that this was the third straight press conference where the customary two questions from the American media went to conservative outlets.
“To be honest, I inherited a mess, at home and overseas”. He also said the country was in a mess when he took over, with insecurity in the Middle East and jobs being lost at home.
“You tell us there is nothing to worry about”, Sen. I’m just telling you – you know, you’re dishonest people. It’s very important to me, especially in this position, it’s very important.
That explains why Trump has had trouble getting his cabinet approved, why his immigration executive action is getting rejected in federal court, and why protesters are showing up at Republican town halls months after the election. “I know how good everyone’s ratings are but i think that actually it would be better”.
Towards the end of the event a reporter, who is an African-American woman, asked if the president meant to include the Congressional Black Caucus in his conversations about the White House’s urban agenda. “Are they friends of yours?”
The president has attacked the press in recent days after reports have cited intelligence officials saying that there was contact between associates of Trump and Russian intelligence officials during the presidential campaign. They’ll take this news conference, now don’t forget, that’s the way I won. The panel is nearly always exclusively anti-Trump. Apparently, it’s all about tone. But I am having a good time. “They-I hadn’t spoken to them”.
In an obvious display of authoritarian behavior, Trump casually walked off with a thank you followed by a wave, when CNN’s Jim Acosta asked about his administrations reported ties with Russian Federation. It would appear that they could not be both. He assailed all reports on his aides’ ties to Russian Federation as “a ruse” and “fake” while conceding that the cascade of leaks on the subject was real. “Nobody that I know of”.
