Sports Illustrated’s latest cover proves that they don’t quite get inclusion yet

Day has produced the annual SI issue for 19 years, and she said that the latest edition – which features cover model Kate Upton and iconic supermodel Christie Brinkley – boasts woman of “all ages and shapes”.

After showing several spoofed-versions of the cover to the 23-year-old model, Kimmel then panned over to cameras in NY, where the collector’s cover was showcased and lit up on the side of the Empire State Building.

Page Six reported that she had been very demanding in her dealings with Sports Illustrated. The crew-which included models Hannah Ferguson, Danielle Herrington, Bojana Krsmanovic, Ashley Graham and Kate Upton-saw sights featured in the iconic film Castaway and the hit reality television series Survivor.

Upton also took to Twitter to express her excitement at the three-time cover star status.

Meanwhile, MJ Day, the magazine’s editor, revealed Kate looked so good during her photoshoot it was impossible to just select one image.

With her third designation, Upton joins the prestigious ranks of models who appeared in the magazine a couple of times, which includes the likes of Kathy Ireland, Tyra Banks, Cheryl Tiegs and Elle Macpherson.

In case you are wondering, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition started in 1964 with cover model Babette March.
