Emma Stone Has Won the Oscar For Best Actress
It wouldn’t be an Oscars without Meryl Streep present, with the 67-year-old up for her lead role as a failed opera singer in Florence Foster Jenkins.
Planned Parenthood did notice the actresses’ silent support and took to Twitter to thank them by posting a head and shoulders shot of Emma proudly wearing her pin. “I’ve been texting with her and talking with her through this whole thing, and she just kept saying to me, ‘You’re inside the TV!’…”
She even thanked her co-star Ryan Gosling for their “incredible journey”.
“I mean, we needed to learn to tap dance and ballroom dance and I needed to work on my singing and he learned that jazz piano pretty much from scratch”, she said. Leading up to the show, Stone racked up three best actress wins for La La Land at the SAG Awards, BAFTA Awards and Golden Globes over the course of the awards season.
Notably, Gosling’s face has been described as looking “like absolute thunder” following the mix-up; in various photographs, the actor – who had a leading role in the film – looks quite bemused.
Whatever he said, and however you feel about the Oscars results, at least we will always have this incredible meme to remember it by. With her supporting role in 2015’s Birdman, Stone nabbed her first Academy Award nomination.
Every movie she does from now on, she’ll be in the trailers as “Academy Award-winning actress Emma Stone“.
Awards host Jimmy Kimmel got nominees to read out the insults, just as he does for guests on his show. “That’s why there’s two of us”.
