Donald Trump trolls Democrats on Twitter, claims DNC chair election rigged
Energized by their disdain for the new president and how he won office, Democrats are gathering in Atlanta this weekend to pick a new leader for the Trump era. There was something seriously wrong and disjointed with the party for President Obama to emphatically win reelection in 2012 while the Republican Party was still able to control Congress. Perez seems to provide a sort of missing link for the two warring sides of the Democratic Party. Ellison called for an “Innovation Hub” in Silicon Valley; Perez promoted DNC fellowships to “encourage developers, programmers, data scientists, [and] engineers”. Bernie Sanders during last year’s primary campaign. Vermont’s 5-member DNC delegation were early supporters of Ellison, but welcomed the election of Perez as new Chair. He had trailed badly throughout the race, which has been dominated by Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) and former Labor Secretary Thomas Perez.
The former Obama administration labor secretary was elected as the Democratic National Committee’s new chair on Saturday after a close race against the other leading contender, Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison. Instead, nine-tenths of the proceedings revolved around technical aspects of electioneering, and how to fix the party’s image.
The co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Adam Green, an Ellison backer, said: “This was not an ideological battle between a corporate Democrat and a progressive”.
“No, Donald Trump”, Brazile said, “you can’t go to Staples and buy anti-Russian hacking software”. “Frankly he ought to be looking at the USA election last November through a special council”, Perez added. He billed himself as the “unity candidate” who would keep Sanders’s restive supporters in the party while embracing supporters of Hillary Clinton. Worse, Democrats suffered election losses, losing dozens of House seats and almost 1,000 state legislative seats.
The Know-Nothing Party was an American political party that sprang up in the mid 1800s that was openly opposed to immigrants and Catholics.
“There’s nothing wrong with our bench, we just haven’t called enough people off the bench and asked them to get on the field”, he said. Both have declared their intention to take the good fight to Donald Trump and the newly empowered Republicans.
But speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union”, Sanders refuted Trump, saying the DNC system was not rigged. “And I hope he seizes it”. “We’ve got to open up the party to working people, to young people, and make it crystal clear that the Democratic Party is going to take on Wall Street”.
Trump has voiced sympathy for Sanders against the Democratic establishment.
