Nokia To Bring Back the 3310 – $50 and 22 Hour Battery Life
Following the unveiling of the new Nokia phones at Mobile World Congress, HMD’s CEO Arto Nummela said they have received a positive reception from the market about the devices. While the company didn’t reveal availability of the other two smartphones in India during its MWC event, a new report suggests that all of the Nokia smartphones will be available in India in June.
Thin, light and durable, the $52 (less than Rs 4,000) Nokia 3310 delivers 22-hour talk-time and a month-long stand-by. The Nokia 3 sports 8-megapixel front and rear camera which supports auto focus and also the sports a display flash.
Best of all: It has Snake! “HMD is filled with key ex-Nokia people, and the phone appears to have lost none of the charm and identity of the 17-year-old original”. It is available in four colour variants-Warm Red, Yellow, both with a gloss finish, and matte finished Dark Blue and Grey.
The Nokia 3310 – the new, Nokia 3310, I should say – launched at MWC 2017 alongside Nokia’s trio of Android phones; the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. Suri during his press conference on Sunday pointed to the licensing deal with HMD as an example of the kinds of new business opportunities that Nokia is using to diversify itself away from a traditional reliance on baseband radio sales.
Also it one of the few phones that should be able to survive a good amount of drops, like its predecessor. That if the old Nokia 3310 would still be available for purchase, which is not.
Apart from the build, the original Nokia 3310 had a monster of a battery. With sturdy and elegant designs, the Nokia 3, 5, and 6 may be just what the company needs to regain its position in the cellphone market.
In terms of power, you have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset and 3GB RAM, paired with 32GB of storage.
The legend of Nokia 3310 is back and it also announces the grand comeback of the Nokia brand in the feature phone segment.
Instead focusing on infrastructural operations, Nokia’s recent moves include a new worldwide IoT network grid, what it claims is a “one-stop-shop, full-service model”, providing global connectivity “to address the transport, health, utilities and safety markets”.
Twitterati have come out all guns blazing in response to the much-awaited release.
