Woulda Loved Conor, Not Floyd
McGregor is trying to agree terms with Mayweather’s camp as the potential mega-bout gains momentum.
But when he was asked about fighting Mayweather in an MMA fight, the champion wasn’t shy about telling Esquire that he’d finish off the boxer quickly.
When it comes to a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, don’t believe the hype-according to Dana White, at least.
Golovkin is one of the most avoided boxers on the planet, due to his explosive knockout power and ability to cut off the ring before inflicting heavy damage upon his opponents. Of course, that may not matter because fight fans will still tune in to see the fight.
Not everyone agrees with the widespread sentiment that a super fight between Floyd Mayweather and the UFC’s biggest star Conor McGregor would be a lay-down misere for the former.
It surely seems their constant jabs on each other over social media would make the fight inevitable, especially keeping in mind the online argument between Soulja Boy and Chris Brown that advanced into a bonafide fight, which Mayweather is now promoting.
Since then, the both the fighters have shifted verbal clashes, with talks over a lucrative deal that is said to have begun for what would be a first-class event – boxing legend against mixed martial arts superstar.
“Everybody saying I’m sitting out and waiting but now they’re talking all this Mayweather-McGregor stuff”, he said. “Two nasty guys, No. 1 and No. 2 in the world, it doesn’t get any better than that”. Let one of them have a real knock and see what’s what. It would be a joke, it would be an embarrassment for boxing if an MMA fighter were to go into the ring, it would be a no contest.
“We already know what my number is”.
The pair are undoubtedly two of the greatest fighters in the world, albeit in different disciplines.
“Conor believes in his ability – I don’t doubt Conor at all and he believes 100 per cent in his ability – I don’t think he’s going into this fight just for money”.
