Sir Patrick Stewart: ‘Logan’ Echoes the Political Climate
In 2029, no new mutants have been born for over 20 years, and Logan (Hugh Jackman) – once known as Wolverine – is working as a limo driver and trying to keep the ailing Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) away from prying eyes. As Hugh Jackman credits Jerry Seinfeld for convincing him to quit Wolverine, he also shared how he’s glad to be off his diet of boiled chicken and broccoli. But that he’d play a comic-book tough guy who chomps cigars and sinks his claws into bad guys’ faces?
Australian born actor, Hugh Jackman, has essayed the character for the past 14 years in 10 films.
This is the third installment in a trio of Wolverine movies, which exist both within and separate from the X-Men cinematic canon (it’s not as if the comics ever paid much attention to continuity and timelines, so why start now?).

To this Jackman quickly retorted saying, “Well, Oh! When you know it’s your last game of footy you leave it all out there on the field”. But the very – near the end, as we were filming near the end, there was a great sense of calm and peace. He also added that he honestly “never thought in a million years” that it would last when it began 17 years.
“Everything is in place that ought to be in place, so may be I am done too”, said Stewart at the conference here. With this movie Jackman bids farewell to Logan in the best way possible.
After that, his future is wide open.
“I’m not sure who, I think, it should be someone that you don’t expect perhaps”.
So what have I heard?
But Jackman says he’s energized about the unpredictability of his post-Wolverine period.
