Reliance Jio Rolls Out Prime Plans For Customers, Membership Begins Today
Jio has launched paid prime and non-prime offers. This subscription has a validity until March 31, 2018.
The math is simple.
Isn’t, this great offer by Vodafone to counter Jio?
The gateway probably crumbled under the magnitude of traffic that it received yesterday, when Jio Prime released. The company expects to corner a 50 percent revenue market share by FY21 and operating margins of over 50 percent. This legacy technology has constraints when it comes to building data carrying capacity.
Reliance Jio has disrupted the Indian telecom space with a slew of free offers including free voice calls along with free data through Welcome Offer and Happy New Year Offer.
One of the tariffs announced for Jio Prime members is priced at Rs.303 for 28 days (Pre-paid) and has been making a lot of buzz as it gives a total of 28GB data for the month – translating into 1GB data per day at a nominal cost of Rs.10.
Jio Prime users will get unlimited data along with a daily FUP limit (1 GB high-speed data), unlimited voice and SMS, and zero roaming charges. Here are the details of the Prepaid and Post Paid Plans of Jio. Under this plan the data offered at 4G speed for the month was capped at 56GB.
Along with the data benefits, users can also enjoy unlimited local and STD calling to any network in India. The plan has validity for 28 days.
The analyst call was more about what Jio’s aspirations and ambitions are in this market. And thereafter the customer need to opt for a plan to avail Jio’s services.
Rs 999 plan offers is similar like 499 with no FUP.
“Assuming this plan (Rs303) appeals to only customers with total across-SIMs wireless spend of Rs200 per month or more, (it) suggests a potential ceteris paribus negative impact of around 16-17 percent on industry revenues in FY2018”, says a February 28 report by Kotak Institutional Equities.
As mentioned earlier, this clearly seems like an offer to attract more people and get more subscribers on board the service.
Reliance Jio and AirHop Communications have deployed JioSON, Reliance Jio´s SON solution powered by AirHop´s eSON360 product, which supports Jio´s Pan India LTE network, the largest all-IP network in the world.
