UFC 209 Weigh-in Results: Khabib Nurmagomedov-Tony Ferguson Fight Cancelled

Saturday night’s UFC 209 lacks the star power of Conor McGregor or Ronda Rousey. “What is interesting is that because the last fight ended in such a close draw, neither fighter felt they did enough to get the win”. One judge voted Woodley the victor, but the other two ruled it a draw, and Woodley retained the title via majority draw.

After a quiet beginning to the new year for the UFC, we are finally closing in on the promotion’s first marquee pay-per-view of 2017.

TAKE TWO Who is Tyron Woodley? They think he’s beatable, and obviously Georges St-Pierre is no different. Although released from the hospital, he was not medically cleared to fight. He has won eight straight fights to open his UFC career.

The native of Dagestan has built one of MMA’s longest undefeated streaks on the strengths of his dominant grappling skills, and has also finished his past two fights inside the distance including a third-round submission of Michael Johnson as -335 chalk at UFC 205. However, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Ferguson, who is a +145 underdog, get the win.

Woodley and Thompson had a five-round war in November, taking home “Fight of the Night” honors. His resume features victories over Gleison Tibau, Abel Trujillo and Rafael dos Anjos, all by decision.

According to CraziestSportsFights.com, Nurmagomedov’s dad wanted to test his son’s character, and apparently decided that the best way to do that would be to have him face off against a risky animal. “I’m going to run circles all over this guy”.

“You ain’t breaking (expletive)”, Ferguson responded. He jumped over all contenders and he fought for the title. Fans and insiders alike have come to ridicule the UFC’s over-dependence on such belts in recent years.

Given that the “Notorious” is now enjoying time off whilst his long-term partner Dee Devlin prepares for the birth of their first child, the lightweight division must continue in his stead.
