Get Your First Look At The ‘DuckTales’ Reboot
Scrooge McDuck and his misfit great-nephews are coming back for some brand new adventures, and now we finally have our first look at Disney’s rebooted Duck Tales.
Ahead of its season one debut, Disney XD has ordered a sophomore season of the reimagined DuckTales animated comedy adventure series. Comedian Kate Micucci plays Webby Vanderquack, Saturday Night Live’s Beck Bennet plays Launchpad McQuack and Castle’s Toks Olagundoye plays Mrs Beakley.
A DuckTales reboot has been in the works for Disney since 2015, when the announcement for the return of ’80s and ’90s cartoon sensation was delivered. As a long-time fan of Doctor Who, I could be biased, but I really think he makes for a great Scrooge, and it’s so much fun to hear his voice again.
Disney is out there making DuckTales, and they’re not going to stop: the show was renewed for a second season today.
The new series, produced by Disney Television Animation, has many things going for it. Now a new trailer has popped up online giving us our first look at the upcoming revival.
The trailer is a shot of nostalgia for anyone who was around for the original series’ 1987-1990 run. “Smarter than the smarties, and tougher than the toughies” indeed.
OH! And did you miss the original video of the cast singing the original theme song??
Carl Barks originally created Scrooge McDuck as a throwaway character for the Donald Duck comics, but he became a runaway success and soon eclipsed Donald in popularity.
