President Donald Trump is spotlighting violence committed by immigrants, announcing the creation of a national office that can assist American victims of such crimes.
Trump has vowed to build a wall along the U.S. -Mexico border and increase funding for federal law enforcement efforts in border areas.

Multiple reports Tuesday indicated that Trump would embrace a more moderate tone on immigration and would announce that he was willing to negotiate granting millions of illegal immigrants legal status. This fed a round of positive news coverage in the hours leading up to Trump’s address to Congress.
President Trump is absolutely right to want to throw a trillion public and private dollars at the crumbling infrastructure of the country – the more private the funding, the better.
Given the 45th President’s well-documented and open attitude to proliferating myths and false statements, the stage was set for a night of disproving the President.
