Watch Logan actor Hugh Jackman’s original audition for Wolverine in 1999
The film then becomes a road trip where Logan attempts to ferry the girl to a save haven while taking care of Xavier who seems to have lost control of his mental powers. Charles lives across the border in Mexico and is suffering from a degenerative brain disease which gives him frightful seizures and makes his mind incredibly unsafe.
Stephen Merchant plays Caliban, a mutant who can track other mutants’ locations.
One of them is Gabriela (Elizabeth Rodriguez), who’s taken a unusual young girl named Laura (Dafne Keen) under her wing.
When CinemaBlend spoke to Logan screenwriter Scott Frank, he revealed that there was talk of having Schreiber reprise his role, but in the end that idea was thrown out.

“I was very lucky on this film – my first scene was my opening scene in the movie, my last night’s work was my last scene”.
In the X-Men movies, the Canadian-born Wolverine got some grit and gristle from Australian actor Hugh Jackman.
Back in 2009, after X-Men Origins: Wolverine appeared on file-sharing sites and took a beating from the critics, Jackman didn’t think he had another X-movie in him. This is a darker, crankier, and more brooding Logan than ever before, and one who’s only close to his surrogate father, Charles. In fact, Jackman knew that Logan would be his last turn as the superhero before he began filming. It doesn’t need to worry about setting up the next cinematic movie because it’s focused on Logan’s personal journey and giving us the send-off Hugh Jackman deserves.
The last mutant was born more than 25 years ago.
Even though the “Wolverine” films are coming to an end, Stewart said he won’t miss Jackman because the two of them are already talking about working on a new project together, “which might even be here in NY”, he teased.
“There as just one moment where Hugh looked toward Rogue, right in the camera, and he just looked like a young Clint Eastwood and that eyebrow went up”.
With its well-earned R-rating, the film stands apart not due to the blood spilled, but because it also forces Logan to reckon with the consequences. “Not all the fans like that first Wolverine”, Jackman said. Are there ways for Wolverine to be revived in the franchise? Yes.
