Severe weather rumbles through in late-winter storm surge

A statewide tornado drill Tuesday morning was one of the highlights of Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kansas.

A storm producing wind gusts stronger than 58 miles per hour, hail larger than an inch in diameter, or a tornado would be considered for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. “If you’re in a mobile home, I want you to leave your mobile home and seek shelter some place that you’ve pre-identified”.
“Practice makes flawless rings true when it comes to preparing for severe weather”. Those radios will broadcast the exercise message.
All residents are encouraged to have a conversation with their family or business associates about what actions they would take in the event of a tornado and practice executing those safety plans.
