Nintendo Says the Switch Will Get Netflix and Other Streaming Services Eventually

According to Breath of the Wild director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, who spoke with Kotaku about the latest Zelda game, Breath of the Wild’s Sheikah Slate item was going to act as something of an in-game version of the Wii U’s gamepad.

The Switch’s selling point is its flexibility: it is essentially a tablet that can be docked at a TV for gaming at home but also converts to a mobile gamepad so players can take their games on the go. Nintendo can keep saying that the Switch isn’t a handheld replacement for the 3DS, but they’ve used that trick before, only to pivot once it became clear the new handheld would sell enough units to maintain its own business.

Some users, however, aren’t having a happy time with the Nintendo Switch. Both of those arrived in December, however, getting a festive bump.

Action role-playing game (RPG) “Horizon Zero Dawn” edged “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” for the top spot in the United Kingdom charts after the first week of their release.
