Star Wars: The Last Jedi clip reveals Force Awakens cliffhanger
It was a close up of Luke’s hands as he grasps the lightsaber, with both hands, and takes it from Rey.
But then he saw more clips, this time with Luke saying his first words to Rey.
At this point in time, it should be considered fair game to discuss the ending of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Are the two actually connected other than the fact they both have the ability to use the force? While they might not fit into The Last Jedi, some cheeky fan suggestions are certainly more creative.
Of course, it’s likely that the film he saw is far from complete. To know the full context of his and Rey’s exchange, and all the other scenes Miller briefly tweeted about, Star Wars fans will have to wait.
Following yesterday’s screening of clips to Disney shareholders, Star Wars theorist Mike Zeroh, reckons he’s got the air date sussed.
Next up, we had glimpses of General Leia Organa, Chewie and Finn, the exotic locations in The Last Jedi, an X-Wing under attack in a very big ship (the guy’s words, could be anything) and someone (he wouldn’t say who) shouting another line of dialogue. You’ll find out more later!
CNET reports that out of all the things Miller shared about “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”, Luke’s line to Rey is what’s actually interesting. “Who are you?” Doesn’t that blow your mind? Conversely, too, Luke would remember what his own daughter looked like. The title of the movie has already stirred up speculation that Rey may choose not to follow in Luke’s Jedi footsteps, and become something else instead. Have we met the character of Rey’s father before, and if so, from where? Benicio del Toro will also be appearing in the film, playing a character now known as “The Man in Black”, but a recent leak may point to a very familiar name.
