Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will get a new modern story arc
“It’s not done to pay lip-service, it’s done to build a great game”, said Cote.
The game’s Creative Director, Marc-Alexis Cole, has recently shared some of the details revolving around the storyline of the upcoming IP, “Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate”.
In related Assassin’s Creed news, the game director has touched upon the subjects of Piece of Eden, vehicles, and weapons in the upcoming game.
“The Assassin’s Creed series story is still going somewhere, absolutely”, he replied. This fresh development will eventually “make sense” for the ongoing conflict between the Assassins and Templars, Gamespot reported.
He added that it was vital for the “modern era” mode player to feel involved in the game.
The Assassin’s Creed story sort of fell of the rails after Assassin’s Creed III when (SPOILER ALERT) Desmond, the main character, was killed off. Since then Cote admitted that the franchise has been in a transition phase.
“One of the things that’s been super important for me and for the team is to make sure the player feels in the present-day story that he or she has importance”, added the Ubisoft chief. The overarching story is divided up into cycles.
After drawing criticism for its handling of playable female characters in last year’s Unity – characters that were reportedly “too hard to animate” – Ubisoft has responded to those pigeonholing the addition of Evie Frye in Victorian-themed Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, stating that it was an organic decision from the get-go, and not simply lip-service.
Meanwhile, the representatives from Ubisoft have maintained that they are doing their best to prevent the same problems that many players encountered with “Assassin’s Creed Unity“.
More details about the new “present-day” mode are expected to be revealed soon. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC are where you’ll be able to play it from.
