Sean Spicer spotted with upside down lapel pin at press briefing
Sean Spicer has said the Central Intelligence Agency’ systems are “outdated and need to be updated”.
“Don’t make me make the podium move”, Spicer told the room filled with reporters.
There were certainly questions out there about if he was compromised (jokingly, of course), and a reporter even asked him if he was okay as though this was a secret distress call.
Trump’s spokesman also said that Democrats and the media expressed more outrage over WikiLeaks a year ago than they are doing now.
The White House press secretary poked fun at himself during Friday’s press briefing, joking about a pair of “Saturday Night Live” spoofs of him that aired last month.
Trump, during the campaign and in its aftermath, slammed the monthly numbers put out by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, particularly the unemployment rate.
“The idea that we are having these onging disclosures of national security should have everyone outraged” in the country because it “undermines our well being”, Spicer said.
But the timing of the tweet was not great news for Spicer. The White House has offered no evidence in support of the charges, and has instead pivoted from the president’s tweets, which were phrased as declarations of fact, into requests for investigations.
Correspondents have said it was unusual for a White House press secretary to avoid televised briefings for so long. Spicer referenced CBO reports when they showed problems with the Affordable Care Act.
WASHINGTON ― As he has with Barack Obama’s birth certificate, climate change and vaccine science, Donald Trump called the government’s data on unemployment in the US totally fake.
On Wednesday, Spicer was asked about the issue in the wake of Mr. Trump’s allegations about being wiretapped at Trump Tower during the 2016 election. Spicer said that the administration trusted that Flynn, and all staff, would have followed the correct procedures, including registering as a foreign agent when necessary, and that in this case it was not right.
