UVA On Another Best College List
CSUF was named the top campus in the large school division after being named the overall victor in last year’s inaugural campaign.
Saint John’s College and Loyola University both ranked in the nation’s top 200. Other Louisiana institutions included Centenary (478), Loyola University-New Orleans (505), University of Louisiana-Lafayette (520), University of New Orleans (565) and Southeastern Louisiana University (619).
The top-ranked public schools are University of California Berkeley, University of Virginia, and William and Mary. Our sights are set directly on ROI: “What are students getting out of college?”
Pomona College has ascended across the rankings swiftly lately.
For the eighth year, Forbes partnered with the Washington, D.C.-based Center for College Affordability and Productivity to prepare its rankings, it said.
“The Forbes list of 650 schools distinguishes itself from competitors by our belief in “output” over ‘input, ‘” according to an article on the Forbes website.
Forbes cited the “growing number of colleges and universities (that) are now focusing on student-consumer value over marketing prestige”.
The national ranking from Forbes is just the latest public recognition that Louisiana Tech has received for quality in higher education and innovative research. The release accompanying the list noted that the highest ratio among institutions ranked in the top ten was 11 students to each faculty member. That list gives heavy weighting to earnings of graduates, and Salingo found that much of the credit for Bentley’s high rank is due its large accounting program and the generous salaries of alumni who work as accountants in the Boston area.
Stanford has the top spot on the list.
