Video emerges of ‘son’ of assassinated Kim Jong-Nam
“We have now established that Kim Chol is Kim Jong Nam”, local press quoted Khalid Abu Bakar as saying.
During these years Han Sol would refer to North Korea’s leaders as “dictators” and said that he felt ashamed for the suffering that members of his family had imposed on North Korea and the starving that the people had suffered.
The source added that Kim and his family could not have left Macau without the help of Beijing.
“We will not elaborate on how we obtained the identification”, he told reporters in the Malaysian capital.
Expelled North Korean ambassador Kang Chol slammed what he called a “pre-targeted investigation by the Malaysian police” on Monday, just before leaving the country.
His father was murdered at Malaysia’s main airport last month by two women using the banned VX nerve agent, with Pyongyang widely blamed for the assassination. “This is because the diplomatic tension between North Korea and Malaysia still have not subsided”, said general secretary Dato Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin.
The authority said the victim’s body will be handed over to the Malaysian Health Ministry since no one has claimed it.
Malaysia is still waiting for DNA samples from his next of kin to formally verify the dead man’s identity, but say no family member has made contact yet.
Khalid however declined to reveal how it came about due to security reasons.
“We hope this will get better soon”, Han said in conclusion.
On Tuesday, North Korea barred all Malaysians from leaving the reclusive country.
“If we are united when facing any problems or threats, the enemy from outside would not be able to destroy everything we have built over time”, Najib wrote in a blog post on his official website.
They have also issued arrest warrants against four North Koreans – accused of planning the murder and for hiring the two women to carry out the attack – as well as three North Koreans who they say are hiding in the North’s embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
As investigators try to solve the case, Malaysia has warned that the investigation into the murder “may take longer than what we hope due to the complexity and sensitivity of the case”, while China said no global action should be considered until it is finished.
Malaysia, a close ally of North Korea before the attack on Mr Kim, the estranged half-brother of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, had already deported a suspected North Korean spy, recalled Malaysia’s ambassador in Pyongyang and ended visa-free status for North Koreans entering Malaysia.
