Love it or hate it, it’s Daylight Saving Time again
It wasn’t established in the USA until World War I. It has been repealed, reinstated and extended over the years because many don’t like it. Doctors say the change can be hard for children but parents can easily help with the transition.
Daylight saving time will end November 5, when clocks will fall back to standard time.
This means the daylight will begin later in the morning and the sun will set later in the evening.

Researchers found that people were more likely to engage in cyberloafing-surfing the Internet for personal entertainment-the day after the clocks spring forward.
“This time of year tends to cause problems as you lose an hour of sleep it’s like traveling one time zone east of us”, Dr. Boethel said. Parisians, he wrote, could save on candles by getting out of bed earlier with the earlier morning light. The new law extended daylight-saving time by four weeks; beginning three weeks earlier and ending one week later.
“The only guys that may be able to claim a legitimate benefit from DST are the ones who own golf courses”. “No matter the minute, the second, or the hour, we should cherish time”, said Justin. The tradition of springing forward and falling back is overseen by the U.S. Department of Transportation and is rooted in saving energy.
Sunday brings the annual switch to Daylight-Saving Time – a time for saving daylight and losing an hour of sleep. I’m going to cherish the moment and live in it, sleepy or not. The goal was to conserve fuel needed for the war effort during World War I.
States and USA territories that do not observe daylight saving time include Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and most of Arizona. Growing up in rural America, it was often said the change was made to help farmers but the farm kids I knew who had to do chores before school hated it.
