Carolina announced three other free agent signings Friday – wide receivers Russell Shepard from Tampa Bay and Charles Johnson from Minnesota and safety Mike Adams from Indianapolis.

In exchange, the Browns gave up their fourth-round compensatory pick in this year’s draft (No. 142 overall) and took Osweiler’s guaranteed contract off the Texans’ books.
Homecoming week continues for the Panthers as they’ve signed cornerback Captain Munnerlyn. They spent some of it on getting Munnerlyn back. He was named to consecutive Pro Bowls in 2014 and 2015 after tying for the league lead with seven takeaways in 2014 and posting five interceptions in 2015. You know, they’re a team that wanted me.
“He will want to prove me wrong, and at the same time I don’t mind that”.
Munnerlyn, though, will miss Minnesota. He was the NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2002 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2004.
With the departure of Munnerlyn, the Vikings’ secondary should look a bit different next year.
