‘Time’ for a change-it’s all clockwork
This weekend it will be time to turn your clocks forward one hour, something that many people who love their sleep dread.

Ready your clocks and add an extra shot of espresso to your coffee: Daylight saving time is just around the corner, giving us an extra hour of daylight to enjoy in exchange for shaving off an hour of precious sleep starting Sunday, March 12.
Making the switch to Daylight Saving Time should also mean shutting off your electronic devices before bed because their artificial light stops the body from producing sleep-inducing melatonin.
Where is Daylight Savings Time observed?
Studies show daylight saving time in the spring has been associated with a ten percent increase in heart attacks.
Well, not everyone’s. Arizona and Hawaii don’t follow daylight saving time like the rest of the us – but they used to. That’s pretty much what every single one of the Daylight Saving Time 2017 memes for parents says, too – you have to change your clock and you’re going to be exhausted AF.
Like it or not, it’s time to spring forward.
Interestingly, evening TV ratings tend to take a hit, as viewers often decide to spend more time outside running errands or getting exercise after work.
If the late sunlight isn’t your thing, the clocks turn back at 2 a.m. on November 5.
But make sure you’re being consistent with the amount of shuteye you get, sleeping no fewer than seven hours a night. That might seem a little anachronistic as many digital clocks and smartphones automatically adjust, but don’t forget to change the clocks on your appliances (stoves, microwaves, etc.), coffee machines, watches, and of course, the good old-fashioned battery-powered clocks.
Rather than simply eliminate DST, the new bill by Assemblymember Kansen Chu (D – San Jose) would give the Legislature the power to change its dates and times by a majority vote.
